Rail safety regulation should be abolished

From CroziervisionWiki

  1. I do not accept that safety (living for as long as possible) is the only thing. If it was we wouldn't have motorbikes and people would never have deserted trains for vastly more dangerous cars. Dammit, for many people danger is a good. That's why people climb up Everest and join the armed forces. Mind you I accept that few board the 0822 in search of thrills.
  2. Safety regulation is based on the assumption that there is a "correct" level of safety and that commercial railways have no concern for safety. Both of these are wrong.
  3. In some cases, safety regulations can actually make the world a more dangerous place.
  4. In many cases regulations are unachievable. A classic example is the phasing out of Mark I rolling stock.
