The importance of falsification

I believe that it was Karl Popper who first came up with this one but to be honest I don't know.

The idea is that for a theory (scientific or otherwise) to be worth anything it has to be falsifiable. In other words it must be possible to design a test where the theory can fail.

If it's not falsifiable, then it's probably bunk. Permalink
